I Love the HEAD First Run
Guest Post by Mel B, Travel Blogger MelBTravel
There are many sayings but I will go with the one from Confucius, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. I could not agree more because as an adventure blogger, I am lucky enough to explore some of the best ski slopes in Europe and try some of the craziest adventures on my Head Supershapes.
There is not a day that I wake up thinking ‘do I have to go to work today?’ Instead I am excited about what the day holds. However, there is one thing that I love more than anything when skiing, and that is the first ski run of the day #headfirstrun.
Whether I’m with my husband, friends or just on my own, it is such a great way to start the day, especially knowing that I have converted them to have that same feeling and experience that I wake up so early for.
Preparing the Night Before
The night before a #headfirstrun makes me the most excited. I check the weather and then the piste map to see which slope I am going tackle. If it’s going to be a clear day, I will go to highest point possible to get that everlasting run before everyone else.
Waking up early and getting Ready
I set my alarm at least an hour before the opening of the first chair lift up, when the morning light is just starting to peer through the window. I pack my backpack and have a cup of coffee to warm me up. I put on my boots and grab my skis and step outside in the cold fresh air. Next I click my skis in and I’m off with just the sound of ski on snow.
The First Run
There is nothing like that feeling of standing at the top of the run knowing that you will be the first to create those carving lines on the freshly groomed slopes. I take off and it’s just me and my Supershape i-Magnum skis making large effortless turns all the way down. The Graphene technology and wide curved tips make control easier and turns more refined. I feel in complete control as I glide through the snow. I look back and think, that was me, what a great start to the day. It is also that one time of day when you know that the slopes are just prefect and is the best time to be on piste.
