HEAD is thrilled to announce its partnership with the most trusted film company in skiing, Matchstick Productions. Together, HEAD and MSP have created the ‘What’s Your Limit’ series, glimpsing into the lives of some of the most daring skiers on the planet including PK Hunder, Aaron Blunck.
In episode one, Aaron Blunck and PK Hunder head to Iceland on a mission to ski the unexplored. In true “freeskier” fashion, Blunck and Hunder head to the remote island to prove that they are free to ski where they want, when they want and how they want.
“We wanted to create something that really explained the “what’s your limit” approach to freeskiing. We believe in the campaign as it is so relevant to all of us in our daily lives,” said Murray Wais, Executive Produce at MSP. “Iceland is an amazingly beautiful country. It is literally like traveling to another planet. The geological wonders of the Island are spectacular as well the unspoiled natural beauty of the mountains and ocean converging.”
Most recognizably known as a half pipe skier, Blunck highlights his talents in the backcountry of Siglufjordur and the streets of Reykjavik. He was skiing on HEAD 181 Cyclic’s with Tyrolia AAAttack 16 bindings and HEAD Raptor boots.
“Filming in Iceland was a blast,” said Blunck. “It wasn’t the best weather, but the days we were able to ski, it was on! And even the days we didn’t ski we filled our days with an insane amount of activities. It was a great time working with the guys at MSP. They are super mellow and cool about everything and are always on top of their stuff!”’
Hunder, the slopestyle specialist, was able to test his bag of tricks on a variety of natural features. He was equipped with the HEAD 181 Collective skis, Tyrolia AAAttack 16 bindings and HEAD Raptor Overkill boots.
“The trip to Iceland was unreal,” said Hunder. “In true MSP fashion we had pretty much unlimited of helicopter time, with the help of Eleven Experience.n And flying around Iceland for 2 weeks isn´t the worst way to see the place. We hustled and tried to get as much as possible with what we had, and MSP made it work by putting together a sick segment.”
With more than 20 years of filmmaking experience, Matchstick Production is the most reputable production company in freeskiing. While weather is always a factor, the professionalism that MSP brought to the table, mixed with the raw talent of Blunck and Hunder, allowed for an unparalleled ski trip.
“Working with Aaron was an honor,” said Murray. “He grew up in Crested Butte Colorado, our hometown, watching MSP movies knowing he wanted to be pro at a very early age. It was an honor and a privilege to help him make that dream come true. PK Hunder is an amazing talent and has been pushing the levels of progression and style since he first started filming with MSP in 2007.”
