HEAD extends contracts with Jansrud and Mayer
Good news from the HEAD Racing Department in Kennelbach, where HEAD CEO Johan Eliasch confirms the renewal of the contracts with the two Olympic Champions Kjetil Jansrud (NOR) and Matthias Mayer (AUT).
For Kjetil Jansrud the 2017/18 season has been another successful one, winning the FIS Super G crystal globe (including World Cup wins in Kvitfjell and Lake Louise) and two medals at the Olympics in Pyeongchang in Korea with a silver in Downhill and a bronze in the Super G.
The 32-year-old Norwegian is using the whole HEAD product package including skis, boots, bindings, helmet and goggles and was relieved after signing the new contract:
„I am delighted to put pen on paper, extending the cooperation with HEAD for another two years. Since I joined in 2010, HEAD has proven themselves time and time over as the best and most professional manufacturer in Alpine Skiing. With the tireless effort from both developers, administration and technicians, they push the boundaries of what is possible. The teamwork has given us a lot of Medals, World Cup wins and Crystal Globes and there is no question in my mind that with HEAD this will continue into the future.
I would like to thank HEAD for putting their belief and trust in me on the journey onwards to new goals. Progress never sleeps.“
After the agreement Johan Eliasch commented:
„I am delighted that Kjetil has renewed his contract with his Head Racing family, the Rebel’s Team. Kjetil is a great athlete and competitor and I wish him every success.
Jansrud is recovering from a nasal sinus surgery at the moment but will continue with training in the next days.
After winning Olympic gold at the Super G in Pyeongchang and the Downhill at the FIS World Cup Finals in Åre this winter it was an easy decision for Matthias Mayer and HEAD to continue their long lasting partnership.
After his signature in Vorarlberg the 27-year-old confirmed:
„HEAD always played an important role in my skiracing career and I am looking forward working with this professional and strong team in the future.“
Johan Eliasch is proud to have the Austrian in his team and said: „I am delighted that Olympic champion Matthias has renewed his contract with his Head Racing family, the Rebel’s Team. Matthias is a very inspirational athlete with a great following.“
After recharging his batteries on a fishing trip to Big Sky in Montana, Matthias is back in Europe and will continue his preparations for the upcoming season.
Both racers and the HEAD Racing Department are happy with the agreement and are looking forward to another great season with next year’s highlight, the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Åre, Sweden from February 5 to 17th, 2019.
