Feuz renews with HEAD

Beat Feuz finished the season showing the form that saw him sign for HEAD in 2014: Two wins at the World Cup Finals in St Moritz, the course that will host the 2017 World Championships, plus a further three podiums. The 2016 season for Feuz was short as he only came back from injury at the Wengen Lauberhorn races in the middle of January.

Despite only competing in seven downhills last season, Feuz finished in fifth place in the season long standings and after his 11th place in the comeback race at Wengen, he finished in the top five in all the remaining races, including second place in Kitzbuehel! An impressive performance!

In all Feuz has now won seven World Cup races in Downhill (4 wins) and Super G (3 wins) and has been on the podium a further fifteen times (9 Downhill; 2 Super G and 4 in Super Combined).

Explaining about his contract renewal, Feuz said: “I am very pleased to have renewed my contract with HEAD. Over the course of the next two years, it is great to know that I will have the best material available. I am very grateful that HEAD have always supported me in spite of my many injuries in recent years. At the World Championships in St. Moritz next year I will fight for the title. And it would also be a big goal of mine to win with Head the Downhill Globe,” explained Feuz.

Rainer Salzgeber added: “We are very happy to keep Beat Feuz on our team, an athlete who will be one of the favourites for the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz in two disciplines. Beat is a real racehorse for me. When one sees how little preparation he had last season, his top performances and to miss the small Globe in downhill by less than 50 points, then this actually speaks volumes. It is important that he comes without any problems through the pre-season time, if he can manage this then he will, for me, be one of the big favourites in the Downhill and Super-G World Cup,“ said HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber.

29 year old Beat Feuz will be looking to add to his bronze medal that he won in the 2015 World Championship Downhill. The Downhill World Cup Globe is one of the goals for Feuz that he wishes to achieve with HEAD.
